If you’ve ever felt a nagging pinch in your low back during a deadlift, or struggled to keep your shoulders stable overhead, this workshop is your blueprint for lasting relief and increased performance.
We are thrilled to announce a highly practical and focused Movement Workshop led by Coach Jeff, a certified CrossFit Level 1 Trainer who is also a practicing Chiropractor and former Division I Football player from UNH. He understands the demands of the athlete and the necessary mechanics of the human spine and joints.
Join us on Sunday, October 19th at 11:00 AM for a hands-on session designed to bridge the gap between movement science and your daily WOD.
The Midline-to-Joint Connection: Why Your Pain Isn't Where You Think
Many joint issues stem from a failure to maintain a stable, braced midline (core). This workshop will focus on the crucial relationship between your spinal alignment and the function of your shoulders and low back:
Spinal Alignment and Low Back Function: We'll demonstrate how poor spinal positioning, often caused by a lack of awareness or strength, transfers excessive stress directly to your lumbar spine during movements like squats, lifts, and even running. Midline stability is the key to creating a natural, internal weight belt that protects your back.
Shoulder Function and Midline Stability: Learn why your shoulder mobility isn't the only factor holding back your overhead press or snatch. We'll show you how a weak or "leaky" midline forces your smaller shoulder muscles to overcompensate, leading to pain and instability. Building strength from the center out is essential for shoulder resilience.
What You Will Learn (Hands-On Correction)
This is a hands-on workshop where you will actively drill and practice corrective movements. You will leave with a clear plan and personalized techniques:
Identifying Insufficiencies: Coach Jeff will teach you how to recognize your own common mobility restrictions and stability weaknesses in the hips and thoracic spine that directly contribute to low back and shoulder faults.
Practical Corrective Exercises: Learn simple, high-impact activation and stability routines you can implement before or after class. These are not general stretches, but targeted exercises designed to wake up the muscles that protect your most vulnerable joints.
Midline Bracing and Tension: We will dedicate time to drilling midline stability—the most valuable skill for any CrossFit athlete—to unlock more power and drastically reduce injury risk in your lifts.
This is a chance to work with a coach who applies clinical knowledge to athletic training. If you want to continue hitting PRs 10 years from now, you need to master your mechanics today.
